| God save the Queen Current Rebreather/s: | Alternate Air Source on EVO After finishing MOD 1 I have discovered that I hate the Buddy Air 2. It hangs way to low. Any recommendations on other models I could use without modifing the current one. I have heard about flow stops what exactly do they do and would I need one if I replace the original Buddy Air2. Any other methods of bail-out such as a BOV that would be more benifical and remove the Buddy Air2 and replace it with a standard inflator? Where can quick release hoses be purchased to allow me to use my bailout bottle as diliuent while diving? i.e. quick release setup? Thanks for the assistance just trying to wrap my arms around this stuff.

The AP connectors are reusable & can be attached to standard hose, can buy from AP or their agents. Otherwise, buy a medium/long replacement diluent inflator hose from AP & connect to bailout reg. You can use as spare for dil inflator as well, get long hoses if you have large c/lungs.Last edited by jptaylor9 : 17th February 2007 at 12:37. |

| Re: Alternate Air Source on EVO Hi, A normal SCUBA BC inflator hose connected to your 1st stage reg on your bailout cylinder can be connected to your mannual dil if you run out of dil. If the AIR2 is too long, undo the AIR2 via the clamp just above it. Untie the string pull cord that controls the pull pump and then trim the hose to suit. Retie after shortening the string and reclamp the AIR2. It's an easy 10min job. Just be carefull that you don't trim to much of the hose in one go. A little at a time and give it a go is the best way. The AIR2 is fine for shallow dives. No need to take a bailout cylinder if your dil is full. For deeper dives I would recommend removing the AIR2 as outlined above and grabbing an inflator from a set of wings that you no longer use and clamping this on to the end of the hose instead of the AIR2. A BOV can then be fitted so that you can access your onboard dil. The AIR2's do leak at crappy times but are easy to adjust to stop them from leaking. It will serve your purposes until you decide to venture deeper on a regular basis. Hope this helps.
