| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time I dive mine with two 2 litre steel cylinders and one scrubber. I have removed the internal t piece hoses and pulled a one piece hose straight through the bag which seals very tightly on the 'latex' seals already on the counterlung. see pics here http://www.rebreatherworld.com/photo...ery.php/cat/48

| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time About the weak clamps...for better understand . Actually I was more worried about the plastic clamps visible at the bottom. (Incidently you have the photo I took of my "T"). they are those marked in photo ????? In the end I left that entire "T" section out of the unit and replaced it with Ken Swain's water trap. If you're going to use both scrubbers you'll need to leave the T installed. -Jeff |

| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time In order to return on the argument, I have noticed that this version of T seems not to have the clamps but seems use the iron thread. And if it is correct, is also necessary to replace them? |

| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time The ones that are tied on with the thread and then covered with that tape are safe to use as they are. Dave Sutton

| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time I have noticed that this version of T seems not to have the clamps but seems use the iron thread. Thanks for posting the pic! I like the idea of having the "T" pcs threaded together. So for the people that are still using the "T" and two scrubbers, has anyone hooked the "T" up to the inhalation side instead of the exhalation side? The upside is this would make the whole bag a water trap that was recoverable with an exhaust valve (maybe replace the stock valve with a more standard flat valve). The downside is the sensors would be on the exhale side (not so bad, IMHO). The ADV would also be on the exhale side (again, not so bad if you have a BOV or bailout). Seems like to utilize this rig deep the best setup would be to use the two scrubbers and to be able to recover the loop (and possibly a better DSV/hose WOB?). In the meantime I've already started my 3rd modification to CL. Pictures to follow when complete. -Jeff |

| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time Hate to point out the obvious, but the best way to deal with loop flooding is to keep your DSV in your mouth. Dive the thing as-is. Internal counterlung and heavy duty breathing hoses = no flood potential. Keep it simple and don't over-engineer ingenious solutions to non-existant problems. Water traps are a huge waste of effort. Mark-15 doesn't have them and never needed them. This is no different. Keep your DSV in your mouth and forget about it. Best, Dave

| Re: IDA-71 MOD and time Hi Boys This is the final version of diluent line of my IDA71. I cut the rigid hose of the diluent line and put a manifold with two outs, black hose for wings and yellow hose fore bailout 2nd stage. The second port of quick disconnect is completely removed, i use only the first port. And, in a normal first stage i connect the single port quick disconnect + an overpressure valve. Out of water it work perfectly!! Giovanni |
