Hello

can I use a normal 2'nd stage regulator as an automati add valve?

Hi,

Yes, why not, but you'll have to block the exhaust valve otherwise you will loose all your gas.

I have done an experiment but don't close the exhaust valve...

I think that is maybe the problem..

..the conterlung is always empty...

I hope to use the exaust vale of 2d stage as exsaust valve but...is to simple to work...

i use a adjustable valve

Hi,
I use that on some of my home-made Rebreather after a friend got the same idea.
Take a back up 2nd stage from aqualung, the exhaust valve is just behind a grid you can take out without tool, put a disc then a spring then again the grid and you got a wonderfull non expensive ADV with built in exhaust valve.
It worked fine several hundred hours without any prob.
Its not too simple just simple as Christophe Colomb egg as we say in France
With that you can build a Rebreather in few seconds

good idea...but need a 2d stage with grid...and....a correct spring.....mmmmmmmm good idea!

The adv in my converted azi is a aqualung occy mechanism in a different body. So to answer, yes if set up properly.
