O2 Fill Adapter

Does anyone know of source or modified an adapter to fill an rg-u/fm oxygen

cylinder? I also need a one-way spring valve for an IDA 59 DSV. Got a couple of homebuild projects in work.

CGA-660 ought to fit the cylinder, not the original filler port, but the main cylinder outlet. Makes a tight fit the first time but loosens up OK. Get a stainless one... it'll sort of 'reduce' the valve threads after a few uses and will then free up a little. Same thing fits LAR-V filler too.

What exact part do you need for the Russian DSV? Have tons of spares.....

The fill port itself is a thread not readily seen in the US. It is a male ¼” BSPP (British standard parallel pipe). It is 19 threads per inch. The only common use for it in the US that I've seen is for gage port connections on some larger gages. Swagelok sells gage port adapters that fit but the adapters must be shaved down/ shortened a bit in a lathe to make them work.

Re: O2 Fill Adapter

Thanks everyone for your feedback to my question on the O2 fill adapter. The responces have given me the opportunity to look at several differant options.

Dave, on the russian diagram for the IDA 59 DSV it looks to me like item #7. If you have an extra one, I will be more than happy to purchase it and pay shipping.

Thanks agian

I don't have the parts breakdown, but it's either the:

(a) spring
(b) spring retainer
(c) mica plate

Not much else in there.

What do you need?

Re: O2 Fill Adapter

Dave,
All three items are missing from (a,b, & c) one side of the DSV.

Re: O2 Fill Adapter

OK, I have them in the "big box 'o rebreather crap" in small drawers over my bench in the Little Diveshop of Horrors. How many dozen do you need?

PM me with an address. And while I'm in boxing mode (happens about twice a year), Dan Fountain: PM me your address too and I'll send you the valves.

I'm going to have a yard sale here soon, so keep your eyes open.
