| Counterlung Interface I am hoping that someone has practical experience with this. It has been stated by a few people that they had problems sealing the counterlungs after adding connections- basically elbows or breathing hoses. I am curious what people have used to seals the connections with the counterlung? Gaskets, glues, p-ports, bulkhead fittings… Thanks, Andrew

They work great. Use a dab of Aquaseal (there's another name for this stuff in Europe, someone fill it in please?) and they stay sealed to the lung perfectly. Not sure why anyone would use anything else. Dave

| Re: Counterlung Interface Dave, Sir, have you had any problems with leaks or water egress into the system through the p-ports? A few friends have commented that they have had problems with p-ports sealing and concerns since it is single o-ring verse double o-rings on other models. Are you using the aquaseal to make the connections perminate or can you peel it off without destroying the o-ring ? Thanks, Andrew

| Re: Counterlung Interface I am hoping that someone has practical experience with this. I've got a p-port on my classic kiss (into the inhale counter lung to link up with a vr3) and I have been suprised how reliable its been. When I fitted it I had concerns over its long term reliablity (1 O ring ect), but 130 odd dives later no leaks (touch wood!).It has been stated by a few people that they had problems sealing the counterlungs after adding connections- basically elbows or breathing hoses. I am curious what people have used to seals the connections with the counterlung? Gaskets, glues, p-ports, bulkhead fittings… Thanks, Andrew The only thing I did do was use a thin bit of neophrene on the inside of the lung to help with the seal, and then just made sure the connector stayed tight over the first few dives. As this worked so well I found no need to aquasure it in place. Jeff |

The Aquaseal is used on the outside of the bag, and acts to do two things: (1) it obviously seals the system, but just as importantly it (2) acts as a sliding-lubricant to allow the fitting to be tightened REALLY tight without tending to twist the counnterlung as it is threaded onto the backing nut. Just a dab on the flange of the fitting where it contacts the outer surface of the bag is perfect. It peels off no worries in case of the desire to remove the connector. Dave
