I was reading Rebreather world again late at night. And i had an idea. After reading one of the old posts about adding 4 checkvalves to the breathing loop for security I thought about something.

Somebody said that if you detect checkvalve failiure, you could use you hands to crush the hoses while inhaling and exhaling> But that would be loosing your hands.

So what I thought was, why not put a separation in the middle of the mouthpiece. Like on the T pieces on top of the counterlungs. Making the inhale gas come form one side and the exhale gas go to another side....

What is the advantage? You can use your tongue instead of the checkvalves. Block the exhale side while inhaling, and block the inhale side while exhaling.

You could get used to it after a while. Im shure the wob would be great.


Or what could be alternatively done is have a fullface mask where you breathe form your mouth and exhale from your nose...
