| Re: The G1 rebreather Dear Jens, thanks but to qualify for the hall of fame I think I should survive 99 dives not just 9, and not end up cursing the day I ever wore a rebreather, e.g. with a scary near miss... I am optimistic but not there yet. To answer your other question, a weakness of this article is no live photoshoot, in particular no pix of me wearing it; also the photo quality is a bit naff (el cheapo digital camera shots in poor light). I hope to correct this soon, and do some live photos for my next article. Hmm, watch out for an article with a title like "Live Socks" ![]() You're not alone in feeling that homebuilds might be safer - Dr. Bob Ianello of the famous "Crestline Experimental Dive Unit" reckons that "No-one should be allowed to Dive a rebreather who is not competent to Construct a Rebreather". (I quote from memory - look around on http://cedu2.tripod.com). cheers, Charles. When reading all this articles about accidents with high-end multi computer units, I just can't help the feeling that homebuilders are somehow the safer crowd. Not better looking (definitely not) but they usually know their stuff and don't just strap an expensive box on their back Jens |

| Re: The G1 rebreather I wonder if you might be able to specify some type of standard for the purchase of socks for future home builders? There is such a wide variety on the market, that I fear that a purchase based on typical cosmetic standards may not be sufficient! ![]() |

| Re: The G1 rebreather This one gets the Diver Dave Sutton seal of approval.... right up there with the TP-2000.... socks are easier to find than toilet paper on the average dive boat.... Well done!

But compliments from Dave Sutton, master craftsman, are printed out and displayed on my wall. Thanks Dave! - cheers, Charles.
