| Valves Thinking of converting my Dolphin. Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a Jetsam KISS valve and a Hydrogom valve please? What is the cost of a KISS valve? Any other alternatives for O2 injection? Thanks for any help. ![]() |

| Re: Valves hi there. I have both, I use a Hydrogom on my homebuild (see my gallery) and have a classic KISS. To be honest there is little difference between them, they both work the same way, but I prefer the Hydrogom, it is a well made piece of kit (I'm not saying the Jetsam one isn't), much heavier than the Jetsam. There are 3 versions of the jetsam that I know of, the original (cylindrical), the newer one (waisted) and now the moulded version. The earlier version uses a lower IP, therfore has a shallower depth limit. Someone correct me if I am wrong Hope this helps jason

Not necessary.Very, very early units with the earlier version has 0.004" orifice thus the IP is usually set low to keep the O2 flow at nominal metabolic rate. However, the 0.0035" orifice came out soon after and most people changed to it to gain max depth. The smaller orifice then became the standard orifice on the later versions of the valve body. In other words, the valve body doesn't dictate the max depth, but rather the O2 IP.
