Only they smell like a servo. there can be a 100 reasons why they smell, and a 100 ways to fix the problem, Does the cost out way the risk??? Come on man stop foolin around and by from a reputable supplier, there are enough of em around! In case you forgot CCR= closed loopThey stink. My mother picked them up from the postoffice, where they we're happy to see the back off them. When I went over to mums for coffee and said hoses, she frowned at me, thanked me profoundly for having them send to her address, pointed at the parcel laying outside and advised me to open my car windows. After coming home I threw them in dish water for an hour, but that didn't help. For soaking I trew them in the pond for a day, and ended up with 2 dead fish. So back into dish water, and rinsed them and left them in the shed for a week. By now, the smell is less, but still noticable. I don't think it might be the best of ideas to take them diving yet.... Any ideas what to do with them to get rid of the smell? Not ready to bin them. Denz. Sorry for the dig just my PPO2![]()

| Re: el cheapo hoses And which reputable supplier would that be? See, this is the problem - its kinda hard to find sources for stuff like that who will actually give you a price, specs, and ship 'em. Happy to buy from said "reputable source" IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE. When people play "unobtanium" games - and they do - then there's a shift in procedure. (e.g. how come we can't buy T-pieces and the fittings to go into a breathing bag from some "reputable supplier" over the counter? Same issue....)

I dive a PRISM so if I need hoses for my loop I call Prism. If I need lp or hp hose for my first stage scuba reg I go to a wholesaler. I am not a homebuilder or do I want to be one. I have and do customize products, but if we start buying everything from wholesalers our manufactures might not be here tommorrow. I know the other end of this thought, and dont want to start another economics debate, need to finish up with work and get my kit ready to dive Have good weekend group, see ya in space, later.

Like any manufacturer/suppliers we are totally dependant on customers using our products and although are saddened by the ease in which cheap copies are sold on Ebay etc with no regard for your safety. However customers have every right to buy from where and when, it's there choice. We just try better and harder to keep our OEM customers. Simple solution if your going to buy a product ask your perspective supplier to show commitment that means investment, that equates to stock on the shelf, then make him prove it. Simple phone camera and an email is all it takes, transparant truth, plain and simple. Iain Middlebrook . I dive a PRISM so if I need hoses for my loop I call Prism. In order to keep up with U.S. and Florida state gender non specific code I have included a KWFK in the test. A “Key West Fairy Tank”. Regards Iain. |

| Holiday diver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: el cheapo hoses Iain, Not trying to make fun of your last post, but the picture showes 2 hoses, squashed, with 2 tanks (ok, 3) on top. I could do that with my inspo hoses, dolphy hoses and the said el cheapo hoses. Hell, even with the garden hose. What exactly does it prove? denz.
