| Just wondering what glues might be safe to use inside the loop please? I need two things - a weak glue/sealant to pot/temporarily fix things in place (like Aquasure or silicone sealant) and also something more permanent (Epoxy resin (e.g. like Araldite/JB Weld)). I think the epoxy will be fairly inert when set, but the weaker stuff I'm not sure about... Any ideas please?

| Re: "Loop-safe" glues? I was told Araldite is a bit "interesting" in high ppO2, possible fire etc. I didn't know for sure, but it's worth checking out. Digs. |

| Re: "Loop-safe" glues? The Dolphin Service manual states that you can use Aquasure for repairing the lungs but they must be aerated for at least 6 hours after repair. The other glue it mentions is Aquaseal and "Pattex Transparent"...never heard of it! Hope that snippet helps, Lewis |

| Re: "Loop-safe" glues? Don't use any glues which liberate acetic acid as part of the curing process. They can give off vapour for quite a while, you really know about it if you breathe it in the loop.

SMI tell their customers to repair the broken parts with 3M DP-190. If I had to guess I'd say that SMI don't use DP 190 in the manufacturing process but rather they use J-B Weld. ![]() <edit> - oops, there is one now.

| Re: "Loop-safe" glues? Don't know if this is relevant, but there is a 2 part "cold cure" epoxy resin that I was told is food grade and it bonds just about anything. I have used it to create extended lids for one biopak 60 and one biopak 240 center section lids and the bonds are very strong, and give off no odour when cured. They seem impervious to sudden and extreme changes in temperature. Here is a link. http://www.plasticworld.ca/Industrial%20Formulators.htm There are some dyes that can be used to create different colors. Hope this helps. Marc |

Aqua seal is fine but must cure for 3 days or longer, because it will off gases and the by product is toxic. Once fully cured is totally safe. Hey Mdemon, I had problem with one of my Inspo's scrubber canister and after 4 months plus searching for the right glue one good soul inside AP Diving told me to use the Loctite 406 glue and the primer 770 and worked very well. This glue is made for wet, warm enviroment like the scrubber. I had a hard time to find this glue on the american market, the only place I could find on small blisters was www.staticspecialists.com/loctite.htm But I found easily in UK and Australia trough the net. Cheers,
