| A peek inside the mind of homebuilding journey into Home build mind While some claim it’s a waste of time, money, effort and a loss of true bottom time. I can only say that its those who look at things differently and challenge what’s available or seek out a better or different way that you are diving a rebreather today. With that said this is a pictorial tribute to the homebuilder. With a bit of all American red-neck rebreather ingenuity emphasis. We have all looked at some one else’s design or product and said “I can do that”. ![]() This is a example of what can happen in the early stages of homebuilders disease Yes a simple pet carrier, But the creativity juices are flowing . Borrowed parts and pieces designed for another use. You have scoured the isles of Home depot and spent countless hours in the plumbing department , only to be enlightened with new ideas and possibilities. ![]() It continues to consume your thoughts and you now look at every thing in a different light and yet you have early stage symptoms that prevent you from fully opening your wallet and your mind to safety concerns. ![]() More thought is needed ! Just as you reach a point that you know more thought is needed you will find yourself pushing away modern devices that are design to help you make life easier. ![]() The homebuilders PDA With a little food cooked up on your newly designed portable grill perhaps you will have a streak of creative genius and show the rest of the world who you are. ![]() You have visions of other diver tools you can make and settle on a DPV that will get you to and from your favorite dive site enlisting volunteers to do the testing. ![]() After a few trials and some saddening results you become the ultimate homebuilder and begin to take a shine on modifications of other available units. While tinkering you find that your normal duties must not be neglected and you again become distracted. ![]() Yes, everybody loves it and you are damn proud ! You know now what you don't know yet the voodoo science is still what dominates the basics of your design. ![]() In the end you are a little poorer and a we bit famous thanks to the RBW. you should keep up the appearance when out among us and keep at it. ![]() GET ER DONE!

| Blogs Admin / Forum Mod ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: A peek inside the mind of homebuilding That is seriously funny shell-back, have a green ![]() Thanks for giving us "normal"(?) people an insight into the creative mind. Am I glad that my wife does not read RBW ... I think she might take the house key away from me and lock me up inside the garage, so I can't screw up the interior of the house. Especially liked the motorbike with the frame made from renewable materials, as well as the portable grill! If you want to further develop this post, how about a Rebreather inside a vacuum cleaner housing??!! You know, the little ones on wheels? Haven't figured out how to connect both ends of the loop to it, but that's an insignificant detail. Thanks a lot!

And I used the stainless steel can of the foam fire extinguisher, just the right size, cut off the top and bottom, weld a plate for the new top, no need to paint, and hey presto, lung compartment for the sidemount Rebreather... I especially like the part about looking at one object and seeing the opportunities for it to have a new life as something even MORE useful. Sure hope nothin’ catches fire in the garage any time soon……… ![]() |
