Anyone have a part number? it's a bit more complicated as you need to make a bypass as well, The trick is to make the thing as small as posslble and with as few fittings as you can. From experience, unless you _really_ want to take a CMF rebeather below about 100m, then a fixed IP 1st stage with a Kiss valve is a much simpler, less fiddley and probably safer way to go. Anyone have a part number? Hi there, Tubby's webpage is off line at the moment but Scuttle is correct...An article is still available on Jan Willem's site here http://www.therebreathersite.nl/evol...rebreather.htm I have dived this system successfully for a few years before I moved onto my Prism, but it still is the backbone to my new, almost finished, sidemount breather... Cheers, JDZ |

| Re: Swagelock needle valve part # Fantastic!! Thanks guys that's exactly what I'm looking for. My thoughts are to build a prototype then buy the Jetsam or hydrgom part once I'm happy with it. Or I might buy a dolphin/atlantis if I find one cheap. |

Hi Marc,Could you explain a little bit please? Thanks in advance Marc The exact method of welding/melding the two valves is more of an issue of "its not a good idea to plaster it all over the net with pictures etc.." but the explanation goes like this... The swagelok metering valve body is trimmed by cutting off both the bottom and side connections, then the base of the valve is welded shut (sealed) and the side opening is faced to the side of the clippard (without the opening) and also welded so a complete seal occurs. Now the tricky part.... a small hole is drilled into the welded side of the clippard so that it enters the side "output" of the swagelok body. Also another small hole is drilled from the input hole of the clippard and through the body of the swagelok entering between the newly sealed bottom of the swagelok and into the input side of the metering valve tip... The threaded nut of the base (input) side of the clippard also needs a small hole which must line up to the drilled input hole to allow the O2 to enter. Thus, the gas enters the base of the clippard, goes through the new hole into the swagelok, metered by the valve and exits the swagelok into the clippard and out though the normal exit... you bypass (manual add) the swagelok by depressing the pin on the clippard. Disclaimer: Don't do this at home folks... I am not an engineer... if you understand all the above then good luck to you!! Hope that helps, Cheers, JDZ |
