| biopak 240 just arrived hi guys I got the biopak 240n yesterday so now i have a pile of parts on the living room floor, sometimes it is good to be single. after disecting the unit i have only three concerns with it. The restriction at the scrubber housing for the exhaust port and the lack of room for the o2 sensors. the basic design is much like the mk15-16 series with a shorter scrubber due to the lack of sensors. well if the restriction is to bad i will cast in another fitting and tee the exhaust port. for the sensors i have two ideas one put the sensor in a pod attached to the cover, the second is to do like ted and david did and put them in the scrubber. i am leaning toward the cover mod have not decided yet. will be covering the lid with an insulator, probably dip plastic so condensation should not be a problem. Last but not least, is the water trap, in the mk 15-16 designs an flooding not caught by the foam goes throught the scrubber and down to the inhale lung where it can be purged by the opv.i was wonderling how much scrubber efficeiency i would loss by drilling a hole between the intake chamber and the counter lung of a drain, i was thinking 3/16 of an inch. list of major mods include 1.cross mount two 20cf tanks and cut housing to match decision to use 20s was based on the case moldings and the fact i want to be able to reach the valves, 2.drill housing for extra water holes 3.relocate mavs to lower housing sides between tanks have to buy one more from biomarine 4. replace all piping with stainless swaglok 5. install qc coupling on the regs since they will be outside the housing 6.complete eccr electronics package fitted to the outside of the scrubber housing 7. modify the o2 reg from o2 pin type to yoke. if anyone has a sugestion would love to hear from you rick m |
