(I had been having a hard time sourcing them in small quantity) So I ordered a couple, and they are indeed the right ones, complete with the Woodhead identifcation and part numbers. There's some good news/ bad news here. The bad news: The Brad Harrison cables I've bought thru McMaster all came w/ a plated aluminum alloy as the metal in the fittings. The good news: With a simple suffix on the part number, you can get stainless steel fittings. Catalog available on line: http://www.connector.com/home.htmlPage 721 on McMaster site to see them Darlene Build the part number you need. Ordered my SS cables thru a local supplier- not sure if it can be done on line. Ken |

| Re: Handset CAD anyone? :) The bad news from my perspective on those appears to be that they're all pipe-thread for the bulkhead models Not what I want to use into composite materials - I'd far prefer a straight thread and use an O-ring (as a crush washer) for a seal.

The smaller size, nano series, uses an M8 X 0.5 with Oring. I agree, a tapered thread is not nearly as desirable as a straight thread with Oring. Darlene |

| Re: Handset CAD anyone? :) I'm getting quotes back on the handset.... The numbers I'm getting back are not bad at all..... under $150 per. Here's the final picture as it went out..... I expect to release an order within the next week; I am waiting for a few more quotes to come back before cutting it loose. The cable entry hole is sized for a Fischer DEE-104 connector; the bottom holes for the magnetic switches are 1/2" UNC threaded (the appropriate screw-in insert to hold the plunger, spring and magnet assembly is not going to be delivered with the handsets, as these are trivial to make on a lathe by hand) I will likely buy 10 initially, as I intend to do a fair bit of destructive testing - so there may be some "extras" available...... I've had a couple of quite-interesting conversations with some of the shops, including one who knew exactly what I was building immediately when they saw the design..... this wasn't the FIRST part of similar function they had seen.... ![]()
