| UHMW pipe sources (4.75-5" ID) McMaster-Carr tops out at 4.385 inches ID. Too small. I'm going to check local pipe places, but I suspect that size is beyond what they regularly carry in "reasonable" lengths (McMaster has said reasonable lengths.....) |

How big are you looking for, something for a scrubber maybe, or something big, like for a scooter? You might give Rodney a call at Submerge, he may put you in touch with a supplier. Darlene |

| Re: UHMW pipe sources (4.75-5" ID) Scrubber. I can find the blocks to turn the end caps out of but the tube itself is proving difficult. 4" is no problem but 4.75-5" (ID) is difficult, and that's the "right" size for what I want. I'll see if Rodney has some ideas. I'm sure he has a source but someone who wants to sell me 100' of the stuff is just a bit more than I need ![]() |

You might PM our own Duncan Price .... Dr. Duncan is an expert in plastics and thermal stuff. Bounce some ideas off him. Darlene |

As far as I am aware Pipe is not available in the dimensions you want just solid rod (and much larger).. If you need pipe wou would propbably have to get it special ordered from a plastics manufacturer and it probably wouldn't be cheap.I'm going to check local pipe places, but I suspect that size is beyond what they regularly carry in "reasonable" lengths (McMaster has said reasonable lengths.....)

| Re: UHMW pipe sources (4.75-5" ID) No way - Rodney's scooters are made from pipe - he's not turning solid rod of that size and length! Its available - the question is from where. I'll keep looking and when I find it will post something back here.... |

| Re: UHMW pipe sources (4.75-5" ID) I would have a look around locally. There should be a pipe supplier to the local municipal(sp) givernment. In the past some friends have picked up "drop offs." Sewer pipe is over the size that is listed via Mcmaster Carr. Also if you have something specific- call Mcmaster and they will get you a quotation on what you are looking for. They usually code it and then fax/email you the quote. The turn around is not as fast but I have done this quite often, with items that just fall outside of the range listed in the catalog. Sorry it too so long to respond Karl- I was building steps for the family and work has been a blithering nightmare.
