| Home build plastics/pipe sources uk Hi, I'm toying with the idea of making a side mount rebreather. I need to source some materials and would like some advice. I was thinking of using 180mm od pipe for the main body, but not sure what material to go for or where to get just a couple of metres. Pipestock do some ABS stuff and PVCu but it comes in 6m lengths. Any suggestions would be greatfully received thanks. What material is the Joki/ddd bodies made from does anyone know? I was thinking of using delrin from the plasticshop below for scrubber ends etc. Could use pvc or nylon but the cost difference isn't huge. Plastics Index Plastic Pipe, ABS Pipe, PVC Pipe, MDPE Pipe, Fittings & Valves, Water Meters Thanks John |

| Re: Home build plastics/pipe sources uk Yeah I know Duncan and have seen his rebreathers. The rocket tube is a good idea, it is quite big and I'd also quite like to make something from scratch exactly how I want it. Cheers John |

| Re: Home build plastics/pipe sources uk avoid pe pipe , it can only be fuse welded abs is probably best ,it can easily be glued + no health issuesduncans design is a good working model using readily available parts..when starting out from scratch it is easy to waste a lot of goos stuff, which invarably costs money at the end of the day..ps ..my home build as been finished for 2 years now ...and i'm still altering it on a regular basis...i'm looking at a cost of a grand + now ..martyn</p> Last edited by G4SSG : 7th September 2008 at 10:36.
