| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Do you have a solution to danglies? Whenever I am transproting the kit, always all the danglies get in the way. I have broken some bit of my bc twice because it dragged on the floor on got caught underneath all the stuff. Danglies are extremely difficult to handle when loading kit in to the car (I know i should have bought a hatchback or a jeep!) So have you found a way of solving this problem? Tucking stuff in the bungees of the bc is one solution. Has anyone found anything more elegant? Teoman PS: always clip (mate) all the buckles while you are not wearing stuff. Danglies: All stuff that dangle, buckles, bits of harness, hoses, pressure gauges, oxygauges, dive computers etc... |

| Re: Do you have a solution to danglies? I used to transport my homebuild in a caving tackle sack, as shown here on the left (the YBOD, Yellow Bag of Doom): ![]() Stuff everything inside, drain holes in the bottom for wet stuff, internal loops for clipping stuff on to as well. It can even serve as a makeshift backpack (as was being tried here). The bags are made of PVC, designed for dry caving use so if you manage to tear or break one then you deserve a medal as they are seriously tough bags, they'll resist salt water quite happily. Cheers, Stuart

| Re: Do you have a solution to danglies? When I'm diving, there are no danglies. One of the best courses I ever took was the IANTD technical wreck course, which taught the importance of squaring everything away so it can't catch on anything. That put the fear of God into me at an impressionable age. There are clips on everything for when I'm out of the water. The handsets clip off to either D-rings on my harness or onto the Meg carry handle. The pressure guages are velcroed in place on the inside of my front-mounted counterlungs anyway, so there's nothing that needs doing there. I have a tiny Dive-Rite travel wing which is too small to get in the way of anything: I'm not sure what you mean by BC (flourescent pink things worn by OC pretty fish divers?!). When I'm out of the water I clip my computer onto my breathing loop, on the right side next to the hood. That way, there's no way I could forget it. Hope that makes sense: it's easier to show than explain. |

| Re: Do you have a solution to danglies? Not sure its innovative but I use the crotch strap and the waist strap to wrap everything togeather in a package. Everything goes in the middle of the backplate area. The crotch strap comes up and loops around somthing at the top of the backplate or something around the head of the unit and then comes back down. The waist belt is then thread thru the crotch strap and tightened up. It holds everyting nicely inside the webbing so that I can carry the unit and nothing is hanging. John |

| Re: Do you have a solution to danglies? It is innovative, do the danglies not tend to dislodge themselves if you have to carry it off the boat up a hill an in to the car? I guess that depends upon how long your crotch strap and waist webbing is. In my case I tighten it up so everything is secure and then the waste buckle holds everything from moving. On units with front CL's the CL also help to hold everything in secure as they take up alot of the interior space inside the webbing. On my CK I tend to thread the crotch strap thru some of the items (like the forearm bands on the PO2 displays) to ensure they stay in the middle. My SPG's come over the should and clip off on the shoulder D rings so they are secure. If I had a picture I would send it but I do not. I have used this on a CK, an inspo and a Meg and it work on all three equally well.Teoman Just try it on yours and you will see what particular issues you have to resolve. John |

| Re: Do you have a solution to danglies? I stick my inspo in a soft bucket, keeps it all from dangling, and stops it from dripping all over the car. It also keeps the unit upright. Cheers Phil |

That is a good idea. there are also mats for the trunk of cars that transform the back of your car in to a pool so you can also put wet stuff in it. The edges of the pool are 5-10 cm long , i saw one (for toyota corolla) and it seems very nice. |

I would not have it any other way now. John |
