| InDepth Current Rebreather/s: | Several Questions about Solenoids Hi, As part of a side project, I'm peeping into solenoid control systems. Any tips on make and model numbers of particularly useful solenoids for rebreather application would be very helpful (there's just a ton out there). Of course I'm looking for the combination price/performance/reliability. However, as a rebreather solenoid it doesn't need that much throughput. And it could even be preferable with lower gas flow than the standard models in other units have (I'm trying to figure things out). I was also just looking at some magnetic switch solenoids (reduces battery consumption), has anyone implemented this in a machine? If anyone knows, what solenoid part numbers/brand/performance are in some of the commercial units (could be interesting to know, and of course they don't list stuff like this - at least not easily accessible). Thanks for the help ![]()

| Re: Several Questions about Solenoids Hello, I would suggested you check narkedat90.co.uk. Their "Coming Soon" section says that they have solinoids in stock. Here is the blurb they have: ------------------------------------- THE ONLY OXYGEN SOLENIOD MADE FOR FOR REBREATHERS Our solenoid is designed for use with pure oxygen in a pure oxygen environment. The only one of its kind that we are aware of that is certified for this purpose and supported by the manufacturer specifically for use in a technical rebreather. The failure mode of this valve is in the closed position, reducing the risk of an oxygen toxicity hit at depth. User serviceable without tools using inexpensive parts. This soleniod can be retro fitted to some existing rebreathers or used in your own project these are now in stock |
