denis pogarieloff and jean michel home built

Hi all,

nothing revo-lutionnary but here is our home made eventualy finished after a too long evolution...(((-:

RebreatherWorld Gallery - Denis Pogarieloff and jean michel Urbani \'s ccr kiss - Powered by PhotoPost

-as you can see the home made parts are :
the shell
the oxymeter (électronics and houssing)

- custom parts bougth from martin tecme are:
the 3 sensors holder
the "L"
an adaptator to connect the adv to a regular reg hose
the canister connector (on wich there is the o2 quick connexion

- original parts :
draeger, canister , lungs, adv, dsv, twin hose,, dil tank
dive rite harness and wing (oxycheck for denis)
apex : regulator
scubapro : regulator
ap valves : 2 liter o2 tank and quick realease tank holder

This rebreather is a simple piece of rig:

it is ok course a kiss style rebreather, really basic as we wanted it.
we worked mainly on the oxymeter that is a simple circuit pic based running a really simple program and triggering loud alarms the components al can be bought from RS and the whole circuit takes 2 hours to assemble
the houssing is made from polycarbonate, we made it in a tube cause I haven't yet bougth my milling machine ((((-:
also it is a robust casing.
it is a great oxymeter, but no very good looking and too big to be on the diver's arm

we've dived those oxymeter for 1,5 years 100 dives with no big problems except loss of sensor signal at the time we used connectors, now signal losses are over since we use potted cable glands

the shell was also a big job,
the rebreather holds uprigth unlike the original dolphins
the cannister can be removed or installed in 10 seconds easily then before
we leave everything on the machine after dive except the sensor older/oxyeter and the cannister, then we rince the loop without undoing the rest of the loop parts.
the are plenty of d rings on the shell to tie the regs and other parts to prevent all the hardwere to linger on the flor.
the dil 5 liter tanks is protected from the floor.
the shell is light, the lead lest is placed on the top of the shell (7 kilos) and in case the loop is floaded the diver can dropp the lest to be able to go up even without gas in the wing.

we use this rebreather in the 40/60m area and plan to get arround 80m max for short touch and go deep dives

the weak points is the sensor holder that could break if the rebreathe falled down from a table

I am machining a different sensor holder but I haven't finisher it.

I also want to built a dsv, lungs and a fiberglass canister, new hose ports and a couple of custom parts (just for the fun).

we are happy divers

regards

jean mi

thanks,
our main goal was to get a good trim, a ligth rig, and an easy preparation of the rebreather...and those goals are achived.
the rest is purely classic, nothing revolutionnary, just a clean job
