I'd second the motion for a subforum. The forum will attract interest, rather than just seeing what happens in the normal forum. Machine Shop operations are a huge part of homebuilding, and in the end becomes a hobby in itself. This is an important subject for us. ........ The interest is there, even if it seems latent.

My thoughts as well. I have to believe there are far more creative folks out there than currently speak up about their workshop treasures. Many more just need to be shown the basics and given an encouraging push to go out and learn. Once freed from the constraints of blister packs and bar-coded bits, that creativity will give way to some amazing original thought-made-reality.

I’ll say it again: South Bends ROCK!

Hi all,
thanks for your responses to my "motion", we were asked to start posting to see if it is worth creating a sub forum.
So lets go.

I definitely have the interest. I just don't have the equipment yet.

I guess that I will fourth the motion.

Great idea!!!

Last time I visited my local delrin dealer they asked me what to build. I thought "a PPO2 meter" was a little bit nerdy so I just said to them "diving equipment". Guess if I was surprised to hear that their every fifteenth customer was making diving gizmos...

be care full, last time I went to buy o rings, the guy asked me wht are you planning to do with them, are you a diver ?
I said yes why ?
he replied "I have a couple divers that came here to buy o rings for rebreather diving helium , oxygen...I refused to sell anything to them cause the o rings are not certified bla bla bla...
I replied no no no I am building diving lamps, and video casing...
the guy made me signed the bill stating that o rings were aimed at underwater video usage...

Re: a new sub forum for home builder on Rebreather World ?

I have the same problem as you JM, so now, I know some sellers and ask for them they like the idea to help someone building other things instead of hydraulic tubing

And funny, the guy in Toulouse who sells compressors parts buy them from the same shop, he was there the day I bought parts for my ADV and CCR head.

I'll explain you...You'll laught a lot with this story

Cheers.

I am not a lathe owner but would follow a lathe sub forum with interest.
