![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | New water trap for the KISS Ok boys and girls.. My KISS is fantastic but it suks big time if it gets a little moist inside so thats unacceptable. Hear is my idea for a water trap and dump. I would like constructive comments on the design and names of people willing to order one subject to cost. Ill be approaching Narked@90 to build it and numbers of interested parties might influence things. ATB Mark ![]()

| CK+Shearwater ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: New water trap for the KISS I'v been messing with water traps over the winter while my units been shelved... played with T-piece into top of CL, played with directing the whole exhale hose into the CL, both with a pull dump on the bottom of the CL but didn't think of this, I think there already too much hanging on the head to be honest, just my view though... For me a direct swap replacement CL of some kind would do this on its own. I like the simplicity of your idea though.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New water trap for the KISS hi mark, i've had another play in paint following our pm's oring sealed baffle allowing removal for cleaning etc scrubber tube extender to ensure airflow and excess water go into watertrap obviously nothing is to scale so could all be a bit tight on space John: i would expect anyone using this to be using a stand so you still stand the unit on the CL case. and have more protection for the dump. scrubber4.JPG Last edited by ReikiMaster : 7th March 2008 at 20:36. |

Dave Subject to further discussion, but basically suck in gas via the bov or ADV and pressurize the loop thus blowing water out of the OPV/Dump style valve. This will require the OPV on the KISS to be dived in the lock down position or to have a side access to the dump with a manual pull chord. ATB Mark

All i am thinking is a 100% increase in the existing base volume, a baffle and a dump valve. I believe the Sentinel has a similar set up But I am not nicking their idea as I posted the rough design long before the Sentinel was launched. ATB Mark

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New water trap for the KISS you may have problems in the fact that the dump in the bottom will be at a greater pressure than the one in the top, which will probably blow first unless you mod it to lock it off completely. And then theres the problem of increased bouyancy when you fill the loop with gas. You also need to be careful of the "baffle" if it impeeds gas flow to the inlet side of the scrubber the WOB will skyrocket. gas flow does not like restrictions! best Dave |

A spine connected to the base of the scrubber leading into the spine of the CL case should do the trick. If not than some sort of Narked at 90 stand perhaps ![]() ATB Mark
