![]() ![]() | A list of fixed IP regs in use. Hi all, I stole this question but it would be handy for the homebuilder big list of rebreather parts. What Fixed IP regs are you using and a brief description of how you did it. ByTheSea -Oxycheq - delrin disk under stock diaphram |

Hi all, I use dolphin reg built with fixed IP 16.5, so rock solid, juste turned it into DIN with tecme part, it feed an hydrogom.I stole this question but it would be handy for the homebuilder big list of rebreather parts. ![]() ![]() | Re: A list of fixed IP regs in use. DS4 as everybody else, just cut away the piston under the original black disc and it's good to go.I use it mainly because I am trained on servicing apeks regs and I'm the process of switching all my regs to DS4 or DST so I only have the same ones. |

Is there any benefit/drawback going this route vs. replacing w/ a solid disc? |

![]() ![]() | Re: A list of fixed IP regs in use. I use an old dive rite/sea elite diapharagm reg- removed the entire top end, cut a custom top cap and sealed adjusting screw, retained spring, diapharagm, etc. Works fantastic, looks homebuilt! Yea! Jason |

![]() | Re: A list of fixed IP regs in use. The diaphram seals against the cap and the body not the hydrostaic transmitter. I can remove the hydrostaic transmitter and pressurise the reg with no leaks. Am I missing something here? Ahh I see now, you dont need it to form a seal you need it so the diaphram does not get streched and push down to far into the body at depth which would cause it to break its seal. So does the tecme part replace the diaphram or the hydrostaic transmitter? If its the hydrostaic transmitter then you could use any disk to do it as it does not need to seal.

The plastic transmitter doesnt do any seal or something like that, it transmit the surrounding pressure. Actualy in normal mode, it does this a bit to well, the IP actually increases more than the surroundning as you go deeper. As it ahs been this way for quite sometime now and Apeks have'nt fixed it I think thay have done this on purpose, perhaps to make it easier to breath of to depth? |

| Thom Susko ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: A list of fixed IP regs in use. For what it's worth illustrated options are below. ![]() First picture shows (from left to right) * An Apeks 1st stage with a clipped disk (piston) from ISC for a COPIS Meg. * In the center is a blanking plug from TecMe with an o-ring on the perimeter. * A brand new Apeks 1st stage with the uncliped disk. The second picture shows the two sealing options. * The clipped disk the built in diaphram seal is re-used. * The TecMe blanking plug utilizing the o-ring. No additional sealing is needed and the plug has a flange to compensate for removing the diaphram. Sorry for the huge pictures. Thom . Last edited by SeaBass : 8th March 2008 at 20:12. |
