![]() | Re: RG UF/M water trap mod I would agree with kiwi_diver. I've made one Rebreather based on the valve of the RG UF/M (see my avatar), but I taked only the valve for my project. I didn't even take the mouthpiece, as a german diver told me that the spring valves tend to fail. The whole construction inspires me no confidence for more as what it is, an oxy Rebreather for only one use. Please don't misunderstand me, I like the rig, but it is what it is and it would be not my supporting life gear at 30m. But if you try, I would check the valve, who knows when was the last time it was done some maintainance at it. AFAIK the reg is only good to 85psi (5.8bar) so will only supply a constant mass at depths above 24metrers. Below this you would have to manualy add O2 to keep up. Once you got down to 48 meters the reg would flow no O2 at all. This was how I came up with an ABSOLUTE depth of 30 meters. And I don't know, what would be happening with the middle pressure. 4,5bar I think. It means, the oriffice efficience would reduce a lot, wouldn't it? But, I'm not an expert, it's only my opinion. I would just like to have a simple Rebreather that can be used for shallow diving. Mostly around to depths of 15 meters or so. After that I think I would start afresh. The more I look at the RG the mose I understand its limitations. So what is the maz depth of the Rebreather you have withe the RG valve Jorgey? What size scubber do you use?

![]() ![]() | Re: RG UF/M water trap mod So what is the maz depth of the Rebreather you have withe the RG valve Jorgey? I didn't have the chance to dive it intensively, but I was at the 5-6m. You don't have a perfect 100% O2 in the circuit, though purge, but without knowing how much you actually have...What size scubber do you use? My Rebreather has a scrubber of about 0,9 liter capacitiy, 4,5-5 lt counter lung. I want to make a second one to have someone to dive with not having OC. I think it is the second film of Hans Haas where he tells about an accident he had, because he was diving too deep. As you shure know, he dived such O2 rigs. Take care. |
