| More panel meters... Hi there. I need some advice with my design-idea of a new PPO2 meter. Have someone tried the Lascar EM32-1B I really like the size and i can machine a housing out of a delrin rod quite easy. Now to the questions, Is the panel meter suitable for the purpose? Can someone help me with the wiring? I have no problems with soldering. I have a lathe... (well, my brother has one... )I´m an idiot with fine electronic parts. Ideas and/or advices someone... Regards Daniel ![]() |

| Re: More panel meters... Don't think they'll hold up - they are rated IP67 which is only waterproof to 1m you want IP68 for long term immersion. Unless the housing you are making includes a clear faceplate. At which point your better off with the cheaper square panel meters. |

Hi daniel, i've used the other version of that meter, it was the led version in the same package, we made a few changes on the boards but nothing to major. you should be able to see the stuff we played with below we used LED as it was a joke when we were pissed and we wanted a retro look! be warned you may have problems as the meter is just plugged in to aboard and put in a housing, the housing is only splash proof , the front panel of the housing can be pushed out so Do not use it as a seal! if you look closely we used a doming resin to cover the displays this made a good seal and looks cool...sort of in a retro way ![]() i may be able to remember what we did to the boards but i think it was more to clean them up and give a place to connect the trim pots and connectors. if i remember i based the circuit on mark monro's circuits on his website Sound Underwater Survey - Excellence in marine remote sensing marks a great guy and I'm sure he will help you as well but the way we used reed switches to rurn the units on...so i put the magnets in the arm straps so it you had the unit on your arm to dive it must be ON and if you wanted to turn it off you clipped the straps around the unit . | New try... OK... New try... I posted this first layout in another thread but I didn´t explain myself so all I got was more questions. Since I am a complete idiot with fine electronics I simply choose the panel meter that fits my needs, combined it with a sensor I trust and made a chopped copy of MM;s layout. You can see the (horrible?) result below... Now to my question... Will I kill myself with this? ![]() Will I burn something? ![]() How should I have done? ![]() Thanks for all help so far. /Daniel
