| Cheap Gas Switch Does anyone see a problem with using a 3/16" barbed T-fitting as a manual gas switch? The idea (obviously) is to feed my SCR (Ray or homebuild) from two tanks, thereby giving me a surface/deco mix and a bottom mix, by running LP lines from each tank, and controlling which gas flows with the tank valves. It seems so cost-effective and simple, that SOMETHING must be wrong with it! The actual flow rates will be controlled with a needle valve. |

| Re: Cheap Gas Switch Even easier: Run a line between the a LP port on each first stage... turn either one or the other cylinder on, and let the body of the first stages act as the "t". Make sure one goes OFF before the other goes ON and you'll be all set. This works for adding offboard diluent inlet to any sort of rig. If you drop a hose from a first stage to a QD fitting, you can plug on any cylinder, close off the supply valve to the "main" regulator, and then turn on the offboard one, and you are now feeding the rig with the offboard gas. Works a charm. Don't make mistakes though.... Dave
