| Hawksbill Test Dive Dear all, Been a busy year for me, building Hawksbill and trying to serve my term in the armed forces of my country. In any case, my rebreather worked, except for some terrible buoyancy and some WOB problems. I guess like the firsts' of many divers here, I can only say I learnt a hell lot. Here's a few pictures of my test dive. I never got ard to taking pictures of swimming pool dives (I did two), amid all that excitement both from myself and my forgetful friends who helped me. Lastly, I would like to say a BIG thank you to Jay Harding, who have been a mentor and more to me through the building of my 1st Rebreather. Who else would come half way round the world to send you custom made counterlungs? =) PS: I've since dismantled the unit and in the process of conceptualising my next one. |

I do not know if your intending to start over from the ground up but it looks like you have enough to recycle into a version II with less work/time and improved performance. If you want I'll pm you some thoughts. Bill

I do not know if your intending to start over from the ground up but it looks like you have enough to recycle into a version II with less work/time and improved performance. The case i used for the CL in version I is much too heavy so I'm gonna have to chuck that. The pneumatics can be re-used. The thru hull fittings jay got for me is still being re-used. If you want I'll pm you some thoughts. Bill However, since I'm gunning for a pendulum system on my next run, much of the loop is pretty un-useable. In any case, Bill, I'll be glad if I can get some advice from you. Do send me the PM. Thank you. |

Do send me the PM. Thank you. Did you use a BCD inflator hose to add gas?.. and was it twin lungs in the chest box? It would not make for a "beautiful" pendulum but it would be possable to salvage most of what you have. You have access to a sewing machine? or know some one who does? Let me know then I'll PM you a drawing. Bill
