![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | DIY Push to add valve This is the basics of my regulator mounted push to add valves for all my 02 rebreathers. It starts with a brass tire stem and a flair adapter to 1/8 npt. Both from McmasterCarr. The tire stem is silver soldered to the flair adapter and then machined with a groove for the rubber boot. Everything gets polished then nickel plated and polished again. ![]() The valve button is delrin plastic with a SS screw set in the center to open the schrader valve when pushed. The inside of the button is machined a bit oversized for ease of movement and ( duh ) allow gas to flow by. The outside also has a groove to retain the rubber boot. ![]() It may seam a bit scabby to use a tie wrap on the rubber boot but it does work. I have not ordered any smaller spring clamp like I use on the rest of the hose fittings as of yet. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: DIY Push to add valve Bill, I machined out a former from bar stock and made a dipped natural rubber boot.Great work! Just currious what did you make the rubber boot out of?--SB At some point I was going to try some thing with RTV silicone but that has fallen by the wayside for the moment. As it is the rubber one I made has three or more years on it with no issues. Bill
