I guess this will have to make do till RBW Admin archives the submitted Article in the RBW Library . It's The only convenient way I know to post it here.

I've jokingly called the RGU-2 'A Poor Mans C-96'. I routinely dived the OMG C-96s Grandfather, the Pirelli LS-901, in the 1950s, and loved it.

RGU2
Nice piece of work Dan. I really like the use of the scrubber within the CL....very clever. Those people who have not used a light weight chest mounted unit just have no clue how easy they are to dive.

Dan,
Awesome development sir.

The idea of a lightweight, chest rebreather that travels easily is extremely appealing.
The homebuilt aspects is even more exciting that trying to find vintage models. Hummm… this gets me thinking…

Thank you for sharing your ideas and I look forward to this unit developing.
Regards, Andrew

Re: From RG-UF/M....To RGU-2....And Beyond

beautifully done!!!

ive got an old parts RG-UF/M laying around that isnt doing much... was going to build it into a poormans ARO-57 simular to what OxyDiver did.. but i like the looks of this...

are you going to be selling counterlungs? or is that something to ask Bill about directly???

who mod'd the mouthpeice into a DSV? been looking for an affordable DSV mod or the original mouthpeice that didnt involve sending it to germany.

The design belongs to Dan, Though I am the one who made the prototype for him. Unless he declares the design "freewear" you gotta keep on Dan's good side.

====================
You can talk to Bill directly about making a CL. If you want him to do it to your design, that would involve him making a new molding form.

If you wanted him to make a CL using 'my' form, I've given him a verbal heads up on a couple of minor, but important changes for my next generation CL(s). It'll involve a couple of changes to my molding form. I've yet to give him a drawing that incorporates the changes, and would want to before he made any more CLs of 'my design'.

You can get a modded RGU mouthpiece that incorporates the DSV feature from Miachel Klokosch at NVA Militaria in Germany. E-address is
Medi-Leipzig@online.de
I've put a report on the modded mouthpiece in the RBW Library under 'Accessories'. Be sure to read it if you're seriously interested. If you contact Miachel, please let him know I referred you to him.

PS: One thing I didn't mention in the Article is how very easy and convenient it is to disassemble, wrinse, clean and disinfect this simple, straightforward little rig. Takes only a fraction of the time as for typical RBs.

Best regards

Dan
