Sorry Dan, I'm a little newbie here...

I've posted direct at the homebuilder gallery, but now I moved them to the From RG-UF/M....To RGU-2 gallery
I hope you find them now.

Nice clean, simple setup. Good looking workmanship. Have some Green ;-)
I'm pretty insistant on knowing my tank pressure, so I ran a close-coupled pressure gauge off what was the filling boss. .
I can't tell for sure whether you made your own counterlung or used a ready-made bag. If you made it, what is the material and construction method ?? What CL free volume with charged scrubber inside ??
I also liked the 'tupperware scrubber', simple, innovative. What weight scrubber charge ?? I had worked up a concept for a 2-hose pancake, radial scrubber a'la C-96, using a plastic canteen. Don't know whether I'll build it..not in near-term for sure..

Yeah Tom, I too have been hooked on chest-pack rigs for a looong time, going back into the 50s...to LS-901 and CDBA. They're simple (like me) and just plain fun to dive.. Your own C-57 is looking good now.

I'm starting to anxiously look forward to getting the more-capable D105 mixed-gas mCCR rig functional, but still substantial intermediate work to do on the mixed-gas sub-systems . I've even started to experiment some with plastic orifices. Damn tinkerers just won't quit yanno ;-).

Tom....
Hallo all,

this is also my opinion. Here is a small compressed vid with my pendulum as MCCR dive in Spain.
Picasa-Webalben - mike - Costa Brava.
At present i build a hard cover, so that the parts are better fastened and to make the unit more streamlined. The unit has than two options, pendulum hose and double hose.

@dandunfee

very good idea and work, i think i make this also, but the time....

Hi Dan!
thank you :-)
About the CL: it's a selfmade, made of PVC membrane for garten ponds, 1mm thick, folded and glued (in oxydiver style , danke Michael for the infos)
I must take a look at my notes, but the capacity of the scrubber was around the same as the one in the P-96.
I would like to know the gas capacity of the CL, too ... How could I measure it? Any idea? I could calculate it, I think. It feels enough.
The tupperware solution is very simple, a bit tricky to load but with the advantage, that you check the scrubber complete every time you load it, because you full open it. And it's so simple (and cheap), that you can take a spare-at-home-loaded scrubber allways with you.
I have done an adapter for a pressure gauge, but I didn't tested it.-
And that's right, it's unique dive feeling
ciao

i think your RG-UF/M reg is supposed to flow at .8-1.1Lpm. so just timing how long it takes to fill your CL shouldnt be hard. just measure the flow rate.. buy a flow meter off ebay or...Tom Rose has a simple fow meter here:
ACCURATE FLOWMETER
and then time to see how long it takes to fill the CL.

flow rate is .8 lpm for ease of example.. it takes 5 minutes 45 seconds to fill the CL from dead empty to firm/full... .8X5.75=4.6.

Nearly all RGUs I've handled, or heard of, seem to have a flow rate adjusted right at .9 l/m If you have a flowmeter, check this. Then use the method above. Assuming you have a DSV, then check it with DSV closed, and a charged scrubber in place. This will give you a total loop (excl man) free volume, a very useful number for several calculations.

Establishing such a method for 'time to fill the bag' also gives you a convenient quick-check method to verify correct mass flow pre-dive.

Re: From RG-UF/M....To RGU-2....And Beyond

thank you dan & yankee for the tipps.-
I have "tüved" (official test here) my bottles now, and I as soon as I have the valves back on them I'm going to do tests.-
I do have a flowmeter (from my azi) and I think, I can connect it without problems.-
Which calculations do you mean, Dan?
