| Re: Pressure Sensor Hello all you home builders, I just found a cheap pressure sensor and figure I'd share this nice little bit of info unfortunately that sensor requires ALOT of current for what it does.. the typical current is 7ma at 5vdc and is a constant draw.. Thats 3-5 times more than the max a good lcd display draws (without backlight)..here's the link 841-mpx5700ap

| Re: Pressure Sensor in principle yes, but you do not need to switch on the pressure sensor all the time... so using a microcontroller, powering the sensor with a digital output line... and switching the sensor on maybe 50ms before the measurment... + 20ms measurment time... if we consider one measurment per second we can devide the total power consumption by approximately 10... but attention, the motorola 5700 does not like sea water very miuch... it requires a silicon oil filling... (or you put the sensor in the loop). best regards from italy! |
