| I finally got HOSED I have vague recolection of making a few posts on the subject but not much else. Every rebreather builder is always faced with the search for the perfect hose and often settles for what ever they can find and make it work. I know the feeling.. well I knew that feeling. Last week I got off my rear end and started making the tooling to produce what ever length hose I want, + or - 1/2". Right now I'm set for a total of 16" long ( not including the cuff ) and endless cuff sizes. I expect to be able to post images of the first custom hose this week. Gotta go back to work. Bill Later that same day..... I set up the hose former and have made my first custom hose. I'll post an image and cured dimensions when its dry and stripped.

| Re: I finally got HOSED We will see how this day goes. By noon today it should be ready to strip. Sorry this took me so long, I had the system figured out about 4 years ago. Just ment making a whole bunch of custom tooling and it was always to easy to put it off for another week.. all 204 of 'em. Bill

| Re: I finally got HOSED ![]() Well that is the neat thing about this project. The form that makes the hose takes a few minutes to set up to a custom length. Taking into account I already have the correct cuff forms machined out. Even if I don't, making one is maybe 15 minutes. The real beauty is not in the former as much as the hydraulic extraction tool that removes the hose from the former once it is cured. This one came out pretty well but I find it maybe just a tad soft on the durometer. I'm going to work on an adjusted hose formula and test it out again later this week ( I hope ) Bill

Right now, and so long as I'm not hammered with a thousand requests I would make a custom hose set ( two ) for $100.00 plus postage. There are only so many posseble cuff sizes and as I get them made I may post some kind of list to just select from. Right now the only part that is custom will be length and cuff size. Bore size is fixed to the one I have right now. If this all turns out to be popular I may tool up for another bore size.kind regards john routley Sound OK? Bill
