| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Duck-tape and a Dolphin That's the title of Brent's article on his modified Dolphin. Bit misleading, there is more to it than Duck-tape: Hydrogome valve, Bob's bits etc. Thanks for submitting it, Brent.

| NIce looking unit Brent. Why does the OC reg have a shutoff valve? What is the IP of your DS4 vs your O2 consumption rate?

What is the IP of your DS4 vs your O2 consumption rate? Sorry to take so long to reply, I'm in Cyprus diggin in the Zen right now The shut off is to prevent a "deep shit" problem as the Bob OC/DSV is plumbed directly from the little dil cyl. Its purely for sanity stuff really. It also helps in a big way to get your pos and neg tests done, nearly impossible without it. The IP was setup initially from couch breathing it whilst doing moderate work and watching the PO2. Very poor way to do it but at the time I didnt have a flow meter which could read that low. I then took it into a mucky hole with Narked@90 and Digger to set it up better. The Hydrogom valve has a 0.09mm orifice which means you get 0.75ltr/min at about 11bar. This should be about right for me as I eat at about 0.85ltr a min. Anywhere between 10-11bar should be good. In the biginning I found that I could not get the PO2 to drop regardless how low I took the IP, if this happens to you then check for a leaking bypass seal. This was the prtoblem on the shake down dives. I had to fly it off the shut off valve which wasnt a lot of fun, have had worse when I had to fly it off the main cylinder valve in the Farnes when I used the old trusty needle valve!! I dont have this rig anymore, it has been scattered to the wind. Most of the parts have been split between my buddy and Narked@90. New project to be completed soon is an Inspo running a KISS valve, back mounted lungs and a gas switching sytem. Nothing is sacred ![]()
