P Port Pressure

Sorry slightly off topic, but where do you get your p-ports...DRexpress has them but $40 seems steep for, well a p-port.

Should be cheaper here, a great dive store. Everytime I get to San Diego, I go there.

HI

How did yopu get your P-port to seal on the pvc endcaps?

Did you glue them on, or screw them down via the silicon gasket material?

I used ABS because the end caps are flat and only took a couple of minutes on the lathe the remove the raised portions, increase the diameter at the closed end of the cap to hold the screw on portion of the P port and install the hole at the end.

I used silicone high temperature gasket material. I put it on outside of the end cap and screwed it down but not all the way. I wanted to assure that the rubber was in contact but not squeezed out.

Then I put a thick bead of rubber on the inside before screwing down the P port locking nut/washer. I screwed that down tight. Left it over night and tested the next day.
