| CEJN quick connects Hey gang, are any of the McMaster quick connects comparable/interchangeable/or exactly the same as CEJN? If no, what is your best source for CEJN fittings? thanks ML

| Re: CEJN quick connects I am not sure on the McMaster parts, but the four CEJN parts that I use are readily available from John at Northeast Scuba Supply. 1. Standard LP regulator hose to CEJN female quick connect adapter, shown attached to a 2nd stage hose. The thing I really love about this connector is that it takes a simple one-hand push to connect. I used to fiddle with a standard LP inflater and it was a pain. Plus, the measly orifices of a BC inflater nipple would never be sufficient for a bailout at significant depth.2. The male CEJN quick connect nipple that fits on the regulator 2nd stage, shown on LeisurePro's site here. This plugs into #1 above. 3. The 1/4" NPT to CEJN male nipple is the connector for my off-board diluent (shown) as well as my on-board bailout. 4. The 3/8" O-ring to CEJN nipple can replace the nipple on most LP inflaters, and is shown here in situ on my Jetsam booster pump, making it boost like a banshee with zero fatalities so far ![]()

| Re: CEJN quick connects I am not sure on the McMaster parts, but the four CEJN parts that I use are readily available from John at Northeast Scuba Supply. EXCEPT!!! These are NOT really CEJN compatable.... they DO NOT FIT standard CEJN fittings without a little "encouragement" and perhaps some emery paper. The are marketed as "Seaquest" compatable, for the Air-Source, and are "very slightly" different. Just be cautious and try EVERY hose on for compatability. The Hansen manufactured connectors used by Seaquest fit true CEJN no sweat. BUT true CEJN hoses (Unisuit, Viking, etc) DO NOT FIT the Seaquest adapters "well" and in some cases "not at all". McMaster-Carr sells CEJN as "European Shape Quick Connects" but only have them in steel. I bought a bunch of stuff from Northeast SCUBA and am now removing the nipples from service. I'll talk to si-tech and just order the correct parts (the solid nipples designed for use on a drysuit valve) for the one side, and then the Seaquest couplings from NES will fit fine. It's a case of "one way interchangability". I'd hate for this to only become obvious in a gas-sharing emergency one day. Matrix: CEJN Males fit: Seaquest, Hansen, Viking, Poseidon, Apeks, Zeagle, Ocean Reef, and all similar. Seaquest males fit: Hansen and Seaquest. The DO NOT fit Viking, Poseidon, Apeks, Zeagle, Ocean Reef, etc. If you find GENUINE parts from CEJN (thru si-tech) then you will have full compatability. NONE of them (sadly) fit the nice QD that Golem sells for BOV's...... sorry. Dave

| John Allan (Northwestscuba) also ships to the UK and has always been most accomodating.

| Re: CEJN quick connects I just bought a handful of CEJN to 3/8-24UNF nipples from Divers Cove in Essex Connecticut (USA) Yesterday. They are off the shelf parts for si-tech drysuit inflators. IMPORTANT: They have a reduced diameter bore for drysuit inflation. Drill them out larger when using fore breathing gas. Dave

Hey Dave-IMPORTANT: They have a reduced diameter bore for drysuit inflation. Drill them out larger when using fore breathing gas. Dave For years now I’ve been machining my various manifolds to have integral connectors. I lifted the dimensions from Apeks connectors. Any chance you could mic a true CJEN connector & post a simple sketch that would show the subtle differences in black and white? Might prove both educational and, umm, 'useful'. ![]() Best, Ken
