| Re: cannister desing hello, have you asked what price they ask hi paul how did u design your cannister so that it provides the diver the better gas , ho did u test it ? and you will still have to add a mesh, if not you will breath grains of sorb, (also weight is an issue!) paul

| Re: cannister desing euh,... think, design, fabricate, test, dive,.. think again, more thinking, drawings, fabricating, testing, diving, .. well it s not what I meant.... IMHO we can think as mutch as we want without a lab, a breathing machine, is not possible to test and then properly design a cannister. paul we just can assume that a given shape, a given quantity of sorb, a given material will provide good results but how to be sure ? I was looking for formulaes, examples, tests etc... maybye will I copy the dimensions and internal shape of a cylinder shaped EC approuved re-breather, cause an EC re-breather has to be tested with a breathing machine. like a buddy insp or an évolution. anyway I am gonna read carefully the usn document mentionned in this thread. regards jean mi

IMHO we can think as mutch as we want without a lab, a breathing machine, is not possible to test and then properly design a cannister. testing pressure drop over a cannister is easy, even if you have no digital differential pressure gauge that gives up to 0.01 mbar (... but I have :-)we just can assume that a given shape, a given quantity of sorb, a given material will provide good results but how to be sure ? I was looking for formulaes, examples, tests etc... maybye will I copy the dimensions and internal shape of a cylinder shaped EC approuved re-breather, cause an EC re-breather has to be tested with a breathing machine. like a buddy insp or an évolution. anyway I am gonna read carefully the usn document mentionned in this thread. regards jean mi (you can do that with a U-formed transparant tube with water in it :-) then diving the unit and seeing if the lab mesurements are confirmed in practice comparing with other existing canisters is not difficult either.. diving canisters in crasy circomstances up to the end, and then rating the scrubber to only a fraction of that time... another way of testing BUT!!! system behaviour does not only depend on the canister design, counterlungs, position of them, size of both... they all influence your canister efficiency!!! paul
