Some have asked about the inside of the butt bob I am playing with

Heres a quick pic.

VR3 off 4th cell (independant ppo2 reading and gives real time deco too as bonus)

Hammerhead 2ndry (3 cells - testing next week)

Large axial scrubber

[note:2 cells missing in pic cos I have them fitted in other units head]

Neat = easy to use.
Simple = easy to fix
Robust = Cat -proof.

Are those R17's your using Mike? Any reason why you went for them other than already using them on something else?
Curious regarding the cell connection in respect to reliability in the long term.

Yes I use R17s on boris and on my analysers - never had any issues with the connectors so far. I had many issues with molex type or the ones Prism uses - they dont like getting flooded

I pot the insides of the jack plugs so corrosion isnt an issue there even after a flooding.

Cables joined and potted in head so no possibility of leak to or from handsets.

I can wash this puppy down in salt water and it will survive

Talking of jack plugs

- Just getting boris cleaned up for next weeks trip and noticed two of the cell mVs were low. Polished up the jack plugs with some tissue paper and were good to go

I guess in that respect they are easier to clean than molex... but nothings infallible in a damp atmosphere so YMMV
