Dr. Bob,

Love your site, man. I've learned a lot from it and would welcome your continued attendance and input to this site. Welcome to Rebreather World and please keep sharing. I, for one, am a big fan.

Cheers,

Jay

Welcome aboard Bob,

You have many fans on this board....myself included...who are looking forward to your input.

After all, if you hadn't encouraged me some years ago to get back in the right way, I would probably not be enjoying rebreathers as much as I do today.

Hey Bob,

What took you so long? Tom Rose has been beating me up, and nobody else from FIT is here to help....

Welcome aboard! The list now includes most of the "Old Gang".

Have some green...You are one of the people who are the pioneers for me. Thanks, I won't mention the other two, don't won't to inflate egos. Seriously thank you all for your activities, and especially for the time and effort to document them on the web so well.

Greetings Bob-

GREAT to see an icon from the Rebreather List ~finally~ showing up here. You’ll find all the old ‘bandwidth’ issues are no big deal, so pictures of your latest creation(s) are easily posted. Keep ‘em smilin”!

CEDU forever!

Very Best,
Ken S.

Just...WOW....

Okay another fan mail entry:

Dr. Bob, glad to have you aboard. My interest with rebreathers began back in high school when I did report on SCUBA diving and through dabbling on the internet I came across your website which then led me to Tom's site and eventually to Dave's. You three have been a HUGE inspiration to me and I have many a notebook filled with sketches and ideas all due to you guys. I'd became saddened when I noticed that there were no updates to be found on your sites some time ago but my smile is back to know you are all alive and kickin, and enjoying bubble free seas.

I'm still dabbling with my very own creation (abomination?) and dreaming on the day I might have my own submission to the CEDU. Looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you around on the board!

Rob

Re: Disposable O2 Bottle Manual Add Valve Contest?

Darn! I wish I had known about this contest before.

As the inventor of the Three Dollar Rebreather, I'm sure I could have come up with something... perhaps carved from ivory to insure non-reliance on manufactured items.

While I am here, I must thank Dr. Bob, Tom and Dave for their inspiration and information which allowed me to get stated in the fantastic hobby of homemade rebreathers.

As everyone here is very clever and experienced, I suggest the next official contest is: DIY Scrubber... after all, it was done way back in 1888.

...should be able to make soda lime with Drano and Nair... or lithium hydroxide from old lithium batteries.

Wait... wait... wait. I am giving too much away for my winning strategy.

Jonathan!

On another front, I think Customworks Bill has made one also.

Tom
Throw away valve for throw away 02 tanks:

1/2 cpvc cap / SS screw and nut / end from a condom catheter / short rubber tube.

Cost about two bucks...

Tools: Drill, scissors, hole punch, sandpaper and rubber cement.
