My first project was startet 3 years ago, after I dive a submatix (early version) I just looking for a method to put more "gas" on the rebreather. ( the 2 x 2 Liters was very less). So my first idea was to put everthing in a tube and connect the cyls around them. but the hole thing was to complex in build up and predive check. (This was mine TR300 V1) ![]() Next I played around with some minor and major changes. after 2 years in engeneering i got the TR300 V3. its now from the kind of placing the parts like the RB80 but its still a constant flow SCR (no pasSCR). ![]() end of last year I just looking for a liteweight reb for diving here in lakes. I then spend some material in finding the TR300 compact (its like the KISS, but with only one counterlung and a double sealed scrubber). This rig was to complex in manufacturing and I still changed the design. now I have the TR300sc, its a little bit a mix of a Dolphin and a KISS. Its now very liteweight (10 kg with scrubber (1kg) and 2 x 1 Liter cyl). its perfect for having fundives in narrow lakes. If I look back, I have spent a lot of money in my development. (therefore I can buy one Inspo and one Evo :-) ) but I have learnt a lot about rebreather and now I see the other rebreathers from a very inside view. but I will do it ever again, it is pure fun Holger

| Re: Why homebuild? hello main reason: to have a 'setup'-friendly rebreather! the whole breather has only 2 P-ports for the hose, 1-p-port for entering cables for cells, and a cover that you take off with 1 screw and you have access to everyting: scrubbers, cells, adv, counterlungs,... regards paul

I got the "it's going to be a lot safer and a lot easier and a lot safer to buy a proper ready made one" from my wife. It only took 300 trips to B&Q, and buying anything vaguely tubular, T-piece like or box shaped. (Not gonna stop me though....) Dave |
