Re: McMaster Carr CMF orifices and filters

Hi Tom,

Here is the order so far. Note I’m buying one set of orifices/filters made of brass and another set made of SS. Corallaro is using only brass.

As of 24/2/07 the order stands at:

MAREKM
1X 3820K11 US$8.04 ulsation-Damping Snubber Brass, 1/8" NPT, .004" Orifice, 2000 PSI

1X 3820K41 US$17.09 Pulsation-Damping Snubber Type 303 SS, 1/8" NPT, .004" Orifice, 4000 PSI

1X 4034K62 US$7.98 Pulsation-Damping Snubber with Filtering Disc Brass, 1/8" NPT Connections, 40 to 45 Micron, 3000 PSI

1X 4034K66 US$10.16 Pulsation-Damping Snubber with Filtering Disc 303 SS, 1/8" NPT Connections, 40-45 Micron, 5000 PSI

CORALLARO
1X 3820K11 US$8.04 Pulsation-Damping Snubber Brass, 1/8" NPT, .004" Orifice, 2000 PSI

1X 4034K61 US$7.98 Pulsation-Damping Snubber with Filtering Disc Brass, 1/8" NPT Connections, 10 Micron, 3000 PSI

(Corallaro, if you can try out the brass 10 micron filter, I will test the 45 micron filters).

DENZEL
not sure yet

TOTAL: US$59.29

When I finish getting the details from Denzel, I'll PM you my address, so you can work out shipping costs and PM me your account number so I can wire you all the money. Anyone want to add or change something in the order?

Corallaro and Denzel: I'll post you your parts to you and won't add the cost of shipping from the US to my address in Australia. I'll only charge part of the wire transfer fee, cost of the items and the shipping cost from my address to yours.

I choose to not use a filter, these snubbers are cheap and i just have a few made up into p-port plugs with QDs and carry a flow meter with me to do a quick check before the dive, if the flow is off, just plug in another one and go. as far as clogging goes, you are looking at your displays constantly right? Dave.
That is very nice work.

Tom

PM me if you want details.
Hi Cameron

I'm interested in a slightly slower orifice, so if you could let me know the source, I'd be very grateful. It will save me from the pony up a second O2 tank scenario that I'm facing at present...

cheers

Re: McMaster Carr CMF orifices and filters

Hi
I think about the filter...in CK and in SK manual there is:
"The inlet of the valve is protected by a 15 micron. filter (Swagelok Part number SS-4F-T7-15)"

For kiss valve a 15 micron filter is OK

The kiss valve don't contain only an orifice but it is also contain a push valve for manual addition of O2 and the flush of the manual added gas pass trought the filter of 15 micron....

in our solution the line of manual addition of o2 don't pass throught the filter.....i empirically think that 10 micron filter may be OK...

Re: McMaster Carr CMF orifices and filters

Hi Marek,

Thanks for thinking about me...

I didn't want to order more of them since I already own 2 of them, they just don't live with me, but then I don't pay orifice support for them either..

I think I'll happily dive the unit fully manual till they rock up.
That is, if someone (you know who you are) sends me the missing loop, lungs and ADV!

Denz.

Corallaro:
The Norgen orifices are made of aluminium and stainless steel, not the best combination of metals for sea water. I am buying one brass and one stainless orifice from McMaster for now so I can test which works better in sea water.
