| Rebreather World Writer ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Hammerhead / Mentes CCR electronic issue yo all I got a Polish diver here in my shop with a Mentes CCR with Hammerhead electronics. We have some issues of connecting the sensors to the electronics. On both handsets all three sensors say failure and it seems as the handsets do not connect to the sensors. All three sensors are good between 11.5 and 12.4 mv, so are the wires to the banana block checked with multimeter, the banana block itself going throu connectors with multimeter, connection soldering on other side of block is good, and fresh SWIFT batteries in the handsets. I have sprayed cleaner spray onto the connectors and opened them up a bit to give it better conectivity. Still the sensors do not connect to the electronics. The diver has done a calibration before flying here and just out of the luggage it does not work anymore. I do have some experience with my Optima and with it Hammerhead electronics ... and issues with it but never had such a persistant problem .... Do you have any ideas what I could have missed ?. greetings Matt |

![]() | Re: Hammerhead / Mentes CCR electronic issue Matt, First check the polarity of the wiring from the sensors to the bannana block. If this is reversed the handsets read 0.00 and the MV DISPLAY will read 0. You will see the sensor mv readings if you go to OPT> MV DISPLAY in the handsets. If you have mv readings then the sensors are connected. Each sensor must produce at least 40mv during calibration in oxygen. If not it says "FAIL" for each corresponding cell on the displays. Usually this happens to all 3 sensor readings if a calibration has been attempted using a gas other than 100% O2. Often caused by inadequate flushing of O2 before calibration. So do a calibrate in O2 and see what happens. Were the batteries left in during transportation? If so the buttons on the handset may have been pressed? Hope this helps, I'm sure Kevin J or Joe R will post some info on this later. Mark Last edited by hhmark : 12th June 2008 at 10:30. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Hammerhead / Mentes CCR electronic issue yo all FAIL indicated a calibration failure on last calibration.. ANY sensor with teh word FAIL is LOCKED OUT until a sucessful calibration.. To see what the systme sees, go to OPT then millivolt display.. it will display an approximate mv reading.. This is not calibrated so differences of at least +/- 1mv are expected..I got a Polish diver here in my shop with a Mentes CCR with Hammerhead electronics. The handset will reject any cell that it measures at less than 40mv in oxygen..

This is the one thing I did not try as it did say fail accross the board thanx for your time Matt |

This is the one thing I did not try as it did say fail accross the board thanx for your time Matt We got it solved with a new calibration after doing all the contact cleaning and checking last night ... and yes, it did calibrate. I may was a little fast on the forum here with the issue but all your input and PM helped me a lot thanx a lot again Matt |
