New Hh Or Meg?

On paper the HH is the obvious choice.

In pure equipment for the money its far better than the Meg.

If its reliable then its by far the better of the two. I loved my HH when it was working but thats the big question for me. Have they fixed the issues with the hand sets? If so I wouldn't even consider the Apex 2 Meg as being in the same class. Its just a jumped up Inspo classic with a big price tag and some travel advantages.

For me the choice would be Sentinel or HH Id most likely go for the Sentinel purely on the basis that Mike Gad reckons the CCR research team really know what they are doing. I can trust mike to call a spade a f-ing spade

The holes thing is a myth by the way, I never touched the hand sets in any way except once to replace a depth sensor and the second time to replace a mother board.

Rebooting mid dive loosing deco info, solinoid control and spiking the 02 on the reboot.

They have fixed the 02 spike which is a smart move but i have herd of a couple of rebooting issues reported on the latest Optima hand sets so I am still a little concerned about the other thing.

That's not true, Mark.

Either:

a) You drilled the holes

or:

b) You bought a unit from a guy who drilled giant holes in the wrist units

Either way............

Why was the drilled and what posetive and negative effects did they have on the handsets?

There was some problem with the handsets, but now all are solved. I have personaly more than 5 different HH electronics (Inspo heads, HH CCR, KISS etc. ) and all working good. If you compare usefullness of HH and any other, you can find a lot of things worth the price. Safety (DIVA, wet switches, depth switch etc.), practical solutions (stack timer, altitude callibration, cell mV chcking) very simple menu...
