Watertrap

The HH CCR has a much larger watertrap than the Optima. On the other hand, the Optima's watertrap has the advantage that it works in any dive position, while for the HH CCR, you have to stay in a slightly heads up position, or put something into the watertrap (bottom of the canister) that absorbs water.

Marc,

Thanks for the thorough write up! How much water trap space would you estimate is in the bottom of the can with the radial scrubber?

By my rough calculations about 1.22 liters / 74.66 in^3 (less the volume occupied by the spacer itself - which is an open ring)

Re: New Hammerhead CCR Diver

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the review. I should receive my HH some time this week hopefully and start my training in about 10 days. Exciting stuff! I look forward to joining the HH ranks!

Regards,
Randy

OK, maybe traitor was too strong

Thanks for the very thorough write up of the comparisons. I also think the Hammerhead is a great unit.
