Hi Philippe,

I use the Skaana glove system (www.skaana.com). Alden is actually on the board as deapseacowboy. It's a good system and I've had mine now for 3 or 4 years with no problems at all.

A general enquiry to you cold water divers. I'm after a dry glove system (other than DUI zipgloves and separate dry gloves with dry seal). I'd like it user friendly, compact and no need to cut the suit to install. What's out there?
Best

Re: General question: dry gloves system

here is my remedy for cold hands in any dry suit glove system???? get the cheap painters latex glove , mechnic latex, food handlers throwaway latex gloves.... now put the latex on FIRST, then put your insulated glove on next...NOW put your DRY SUIT GLOVE on , your hands will stay warm all day?? what happens is your hands sweat and that moisture goes into your insulated glove and you hands get cold after awhile ....
the latex stops the sweat from getting in the insulation and your hands stay warmer.the thin PLOY PRO insulation works for most..dives??
the best latex glove i've found are the surgeon's gloves they have a longer sleeve that covers the wrist area...you hairy guys take note ???
you can also use this trick on your feet to stay warm and toasty, you'll need a thin plastic bag large enought to fit your foot , but be fore warned this only works if you have lace up boots ,and you guessed it DUCT TAPE to make the bag stay put on your foot??. it really dosen't work to well for diving but if your standing or sitting in very cold places it realy works, give it a try BBB

Re: General question: dry gloves system

rubberized fish handling gloves
set of wrist seals
wool liners
aquaseal or staybond

upside: cheap, easy to fix, wrist seals on suit never leak, no big wrist rings.

downsides: still some fanegeling to get on and to keep ambient

Re: General question: dry gloves system

Another vote for the Skaana glove system. Keep my hands nice and warm, even in water that is 33 F. I like the non-lined gloves and then wear a heaver liner that one can pick up at amost any outdoor store. Also, on those extra cold days, use chemical hot packs in the gloves to prewarm and during the dive. Never had a burning issue.

Another one similiar to the Skaana is Diving Concepts.

Re: General question: dry gloves system

I use their compressed neoprene glove so it offers some protection against getting cut by either the anchor chain or other items we have around here. They feel about the same as a normal glove, just with a fleece insert for extra warmth. No Cold hands during deco...

Cheap? How about USD $18?

This is what I did a while back.

I am now using a nice, heavy, rubber, sandblasting glove with gauntlet (protects wrist seals). It's got texture to it on the fingers and palm. I like them and they work well. I've only been to 48f so don't know how far down the thermometer they work.

Re: General question: dry gloves system

I've got the diving concepts drygloves. They're nice, you can get the rings with or without latex seals. More importantly though, you can get a set of neoprene gloves, which seem like they'd keep your hands warmer. I did put a hole in the gloves after only 30 or so dives though.Dry Glove and Wrist System
Note they show the latex gloves here, but there are neoprene ones available.

Re: General question: dry gloves system

Where the hell do you order these (viking drygloves)? I've searched all over, either nobody sells them, or nobody has any idea what I'm talking about.

Viking Drysuit Details - Dry Gloves

YMMV, but the advantages to me are:

- easy to install
- once installed, practically any rubber glove will do
- could vary the inner insulation thickness as you please

The DC BLUE GLOVE system is great!! That or Skaana gloves. Tough gloves for sure. Removeable liners are a must, easy to dry out or switch out for next dive.
