| Re: Sra Keow 1: deep exploration sub 210m/700ffw Unfortunately at the last moment (less than 10 hours before the dive) I had to pull out of the expedition. Put a lot of time, effort and money into it but logistics and technical problems conspired against me. Due to a complete software failure I had been forced to dive Boris in the cave this week without any electronics (due to the software being corrupted when I messed up upgrading boris software. So with no hud no primary or solenoid I have been forced to just use secondary and manual injection on the dives Ive done this week as part of the build up and gear testing for the big push that was supposed to be today. But with 10 hours of deco and zero viz from 40m up to the habitat at 9m it was a bit hard at times to see the po2 display on boris (even using a empty gin bottle as a lense) but I decided I could manage ok with no hud or solenoid concluding (and planning) to run semiclosed and/or min loop during zero vis conditions from 40m-9m. Diving to 280m with no electronics and bad viz I can do but losing the good sorb (797) the night before the push was the deciding factor to drop out - I wasnt about to do a 280m dive with dragersorb! its ok but at these depths you need the best. Apparently the sorb was found but too late for me. The good thing is at least I got to try out my BOB down to 80m, although I would have liked to have tested it 200m deeper :-) It worked really great - even better than Id hoped. Im looking forward to finishing the twin unit and trying that out shortly Anyway; I wish the team all the sucess with the upcoming push. I hope everything goes well and they can report back how she looks at 280m. Many thanks to the two Kevins. Unfortunately the Hammerhead didnt arrive in time so I didnt get the chance to trial it on the bob. The integrated VR3 worked very well on the bob. Cheers Mike
