![]() | rebreather for physiology lab? Please help Good afternoon from Ontario, Canada. I run an anatomy and physiology lab at Humber college for Nurses, paramedics etc. I have been there since August of 2006. We have a section on rebreathing during their respiratory lab. Someone apparently built a crude rebreather but it went missing. I am wondering where I can get a relatively inexpensive rebreather for demonstrative purposes. I would rather buy one than make one. Unless there is a relatively easy way to build a basic rebreather to demonstrate the purpose of rebreathing. thank you. |

Please help Depending on your facilities, the easiest thing to use might well be an anaesthesia machine; a "circle" circuit is essentially identical to a rebreather. An additional benefit is that an anaesthesia machine will come with monitoring so you'll be able to display SAO2, EtCO2, resp rate, tidal volume etc. Otherwise DAN make a device called the REMO DAN Divers Alert Network : Training & Education : Remote Emergency Medical Oxygen (REMO2™) https://www.diversalertnetwork.org/c.../651-1000.html. This is a basic rebreather setup designed for treatment of decompression injury. It enables much more efficient use of oxygen.
