![]() | Is it a DSV/OC or a BOV? Ok, I have noticed that DSV/OC seems to be losing favor and as of late I see the term BOV used in it's place. Couldn't in fact the regulator on the BC inflator as the bailout regulator be a BOV? If so, then it seems like BOV is not particularly accurate when trying to describe an INTEGRAL 2nd stage regulator attached to one's DSV. Thoughts? |

Couldn't in fact the regulator on the BC inflator as the bailout regulator be a BOV Yep, but its not dead easy, you need to practise it to get the technique down (inflating and breathing at the same time). Im not sure I'd want to rely on it on a 'hard' bailout (ie stressed and concentrating on keeping sphincter close)./Z

Hello Divechick, I only ever meant for the term to describe integral OC Rebreather mouthpieces like the KISS or Divematics etc. Bail Out Valves. Certainly easier than OC/CC DSV. Why DSV anyway? Why would someone want to dive at the surface with a valve? Isn't that a snorkel? I never understood that. Yours Confused of Plymouth. ![]()
