Weezle Dive underwear

I am looking at getting a pair of Weezle and want some feed back WRT getting the Extreme or the Extreme +. I use a laminate suit and dive in 7-9C H20 and have a outside temp of 0-30C from winter to summer with dives from 20m-60m. Any info would be great as well as a good place to purchase them in Canada/USA. Thanks

I have a set of Extreme + that I am very happy with. I also just got a set of 4th element that I am diving for the first time tomorrow. Will post an update tomorrow...

Re: Weezle Dive underwear

I have used both Weezle and Weezle+ while diving in around 5C water for a while with TLS-300 and cLX-450 (i.e. both were trilam) living in Europe.

Dive time usually around ~1 hour with low exertion level when in Belgium freshwater sites. Duration was about twice longer when diving caves in France in around 11C with medium exertion level, except during deco.

Personally, I found the Weezle+ a lot more comfortable for me as I get cold easy (i.e. very thin layer of "bioprene"). It was also more comfortable on land with the drysuit off as well since the thicker layer protects better from the wind.

I still have the Weezle which I still use diving dry in UAE during the Winter months in the ocean ranging from 17-20C depending on depth.

I also used the DUI 400g which is comparable to the Weezle+. When diving caves, I like to keep the suit tighter than normal so found the 400g insulates better - whereas Weezle+ more comfortable when diving OW since there is more of an air layer to keep the Weezle fluffed up.

If I was to move back to coldwater diving tomorrow, I would personally buy either the 400g or Weezle+, with the preference on the Weezle+ due to comfort.

hello, I use a Weezle extreme + in a CF200

I LIKE it!!, as I'm quite chilly, for me might even be more warm: after 2 hours in 12°, and another hour deco to go...
I think of getting some kind of heating..

regards
paul

Re: Weezle Dive underwear

After Diving the Extreme+ for many divies, I switched to Fourth Element, I have been much more happy with performance and construction, although the Extreme+ did the job. I didn't like how it relies so much on loft and if you are on the surface before a dive, you can get pretty chilly. Once you have decended enough to inflate, it works well. I did have some seam issues that pissed me off, and it can be difficult to put the legs because the layers are so independent of each other. Prone to get caught in the zipper too. Works well in a flood and dries real quick. On a super cold mountain day I used it as a flight-suit for paragliding, eventhough all my buddies laughed at me for looking like a roasted marshmellow, I was warm as heck.

Good Luck

Re: Weezle Dive underwear

Hey Rob,

Weezle + works great, go for a custom fit, you won't regret it. As for a supplier in Canada, get a hold of Charlene over @ Aquasport in Calgary, great gal to deal with.

Re: Weezle Dive underwear

The Weezle Extreme + is extremely nice to dive with. I read people's posts about the extra loft required, but I just dont have that experience. I add enough air to offset squeeze and my particular experience is it is superior to the DUI 400G, as I owned a 400G prior to getting a WE+. I was able to drop 4lbs when switching and my mobility increased dramatically.

YMMV

I use the extreme + and I am pretty happy with it. My only complaint is the outer layer is very light and when damp prevents air flow through my drysuit dump valve. I fixed that by cutting the toe off a sock and wearing it like a sleeve on my left arm. Otherwise it's toasty.

Re: Weezle Dive underwear

have not tried the two piece...

just thought I would put in another vote for the Extreme +... I use it with a DUI flex 50 (upper half trilam, lower half DUI's "crushed neoprene").

I have used mine down close to 3C, very comfortable. I did have the venting issue on occation as well. (I'll be trying WediveBc's fix on my next dive, thanks).
