Virkon vs Virkon S

I was in a farm supply store on the weekend and they only had Virkon, as opposed to Virkon S. Does anyone know the difference if there is one?

Thanks,

Alden

Virkon is approved for human applications. Virkon S is for animal uses. Virkon is much more expensive, probably because animals don't sue.

FWIW, I'm using Virkon S.

Before there was Virkon everybody quite happily used Virkon S as a matter of fact all the tests were done using Virkon S and it was chosen a the disinfectant of choice for rebreathers, but now we have Virkon specially formulated for human use

Actually, as far as I remember this discussion dragging on across various boards Virkon (for human use) is manufactured with tighter quality control than Virkon S (for animal use) and approved by various govermental health departments.

So that begs the question - which should Alden use?

That is open for interpretation, I wasn't going to ask why Alden was wandering around in a farming supply store I know that Virkon wasn't the first reason he was there

I continue to use Virkon S because it is (1) effective, and (2) less expensive.

Cheers!

Rob
