| Re: Anyone using OceanReef FFM? You have the possibility to mount a second reg on the right side of the mask, but I find better to have a separated reg for the reason I told you before. Nad that goes w/o saying of having a standard reg and a regular mask in a pocket... the more I think about it the more I am leaning towards something like Poseidon/Drager or better yet the SupermaskNad |

| Re: Anyone using OceanReef FFM? I had one; it was crap. It leaked all the time and the reg was hard to breathe on. If you made the reg easy enough to breathe on it would free flow around the mask skirt. I sold it to some other sucker. If you want a FFM get an AGA.

| Dam it's crap????? AGA is a good FFM but I gave to a friend. The visibility is so much better on the Ocean Reef. Just check out the side view. As for leaking I had no problems with any of mine. There seems to be a trick with everything. There have been lots of improvements with Predator FFM. Take care Matt I had one; it was crap. It leaked all the time and the reg was hard to breathe on. If you made the reg easy enough to breathe on it would free flow around the mask skirt. I sold it to some other sucker. If you want a FFM get an AGA.

I wouldn't go that far but I agree the AGA is a better mask.. The leaking appears to be due to the shape of the divers face.. Some it sealwell others not so good.. I havent had any problems with leaking, and have the mask set up to breathe rather well.. For what I use it for its more than adequate, and if it gets stolen during transport, I'm out much less money.. Also I have found the the OR mask performance is also effected by the flow rate delievered by the 1st stage.. When I was first playing with the OR mask I found that if I high performance 1st stage was used, a lower IP had to be used otherwise gas tended to get blown into the mask too quickly when the knob was adjusted to breathe confortably. I ended up using mine with a mares mr12 1st stage (it seemed to work the best) , I couldn't find a happy medium with my poseidon 1st, and had acceptable results with an apeks 1st..

| Re: Anyone using OceanReef FFM? I have used the OceanReef Neptune Nira and I cant say I am overly impressed with them. They are ok while diving in a normal attitude and not altering your breathing rate but anything outside that results in having to constantly adjust the BR knob and shut the exhaust port if inverted. I have never seen on e converted for rebreathers Aga's are a better mask in my opinion. I use an M48 both open and closed circuit once you get used to the restricted vision they are geat Cheers pat |
