21w Hid ballast question

Sorry if this is not the correct forum for this question, but here goes....Anyone know a good source for a 21w HID ballast to fit the OMS 21W hid light, (primarliy the small skinny canister)? I am not sure where OMS got theirs for their lights, but I heard that they were discontinued? I ordered a welch allyn ballast but it is too big for the canister.

Re: 21w Hid ballast question

I don't have a direct source I am afraid, but have been researching building a light recently and have come across a couple of resources that may be useful if you don't already know them:

a member of this forum Max Mekker has a website which he details a 35w HID he built, the only catch being it is in norwegian.

otherwise you could follow the links or ask questions at msn groups

the other resource is airspeed press who publish a book on building dive lights and have an extensive list of component sources

Best of luck, Ben.

Re: 21w Hid ballast question

Not really answering the question but I was considering these guys--they sell lights with ballest bulbs for less than one can buy the parts. I was going to get the 21w hid and machine a hosing for it.
